Moncton Alpines

The Moncton Alpines were a Canadian ice hockey franchise in the American Hockey League from Moncton, New Brunswick. The venue for the Alpine was the Moncton Coliseum.

History

In 1982, the New Brunswick Hawks were bought up by the Edmonton Oilers and renamed in Moncton Alpines. Then they played as their farm team for two years in the American Hockey League. In two seasons, but the team missed the playoffs for the Calder Cup. Both in the 1982/83 season, and in the 1983/84 season is closed the regular season as fifth in the North Division. After the 1983/84 season, the team of the Calgary Flames was purchased and renamed in Moncton Golden Flames.
