Moncton Wildcats

The Moncton Wildcats are a Canadian ice hockey team from Moncton, New Brunswick. The team played since 1995 in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League ( QMJHL ).

History

The Moncton Wildcats were founded in 1994 as a franchise of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. After they were playing in their first season as Moncton Alpines (according to a former AHL team ), they occurred since the season 1995 /96 under its present name. In the 2003 / 04 season, the first time they moved into the final of the Coupe du Président, subject to there but the Olympiques de Gatineau in the best- of-seven series with 1:4 victories. Two years later, the team again reached the final of the QMJHL. This time the Wildcats beat the Remparts de Québec with 4-2 victories. In the subsequent Final tournament for the Memorial Cup, they were next Second group stage, before the Remparts, they still defeated in the QMJHL final, subject to the subsequent final with 2:6. In the 2008 /09 season Moncton difference in the second playoff round against L' Océanic de Rimouski. A season later, the second Coupe du Président of the franchise history was obtained.
