Mondi

Mondi is a listed paper and packaging products manufacturer with dual headquarters in London and Johannesburg. Mondi has over 30,000 employees in more than 30 countries, mainly in Central Europe, Russia and South Africa. The Company's businesses are in timber production, the production of pulp and paper ( including recycled paper ) and in the recovery of corrugated packaging and industrial bags.

History

The roots of Mondi are in South Africa. In 1967, the former owner, Anglo American plc., The Merebank Mill in Durban. In the early 1990s, Mondi also launched in Europe ( Austria, Great Britain, France, Russia, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Denmark, the Netherlands, Bulgaria and Italy). Mondi was divided in these countries many large companies in the group. Among the Austrian Neusiedler AG and Frantschach, Confinec in Poland and the Russian paper and pulp mill in Syktyvkar in the Komi Republic.

In mid-2007, after the split of Anglo American, Mondi was an independent, dual listed companies. The two corporate divisions, Europe & International and South Africa, were founded in 2008.

Products

Mondi produces uncoated fine paper ( Uncoated Fine Paper ), corrugated cardboard (Corrugated ) and sacks and specialty products ( Bags & Coatings ) and supplying a variety of industries.

The uncoated fine paper include printing and copying papers and paper for the pre-and offset printing. Corrugated base paper, created from virgin fiber or recycled paper, and corrugated packaging solutions (eg packaging, heavy duty packaging, trays and boxes ) are made for industries, among others, for the food industry.

Mondi Kraft papers processed into bags and specialty products as well as for industrial purposes. The bags are suitable for high speed filling and are used primarily in the cement and construction industries. For films of different packaging solutions are prepared as bags and microwaveable packaging. Use of specific technologies such as extrusion coating, laminating, printing siliconising or allow a variety of uses.
