Monegasque general election, 2013

The election of the National Council, the Parliament of the Principality of Monaco, took place on 10 February 2013.

Electoral system

Voters can choose either a choice list or panaschieren candidates several electoral lists. The 16 candidates with the most votes will progress to the National Council, while the remaining eight seats are allocated according to the principle of proportional representation of the parties who have received more than 5% of the votes.

Starting position

The majority of the parties joined in the last legislative period of the Conseil Nationals to alliances together, their candidates in this election are each formed a joint election list. These alliances are the Horizon Monaco, consisting of the parties de Monegasques Union and Union Nationale pour l' Avenir de Monanco, as well as the Union Monegasque, consisting of the parties Rassemblement et Enjeux, Union pour la Principauté and synergy Monegasque. In addition, for the first time went to the newly founded party Renaissance, the only employees working in Monaco, principally croupiers, the Société des Bans de Mers is, a company that performs many tourism businesses and casinos in Monaco.

Choice

The elections were held on 10 February, on election day could be free to use the public transport. Election observation
