Money for Nothing (Album)

Money for Nothing is a compilation of the British rock band Dire Straits. She appeared in 1988 with Phonogram, Vertigo Records and Warner Bros. Records.

Creation and publication

After the tour, the hit album Brothers in Arms, the band suddenly disappeared from the scene and there were rumors of a breakup. Only in June 1988, Dire Straits reported back for a concert to mark the 70th birthday of Nelson Mandela. In October came a best-of compilation with (some new mixed or shortened ) pieces from all previous publications on the market. It was named after the hit single Money for Nothing and became a chart success.

Reception

" Money for Nothing winds up being a pretty good career summary. Far from perfect, though: too many album rock hits [ ... ] are missing, plus There're two live cuts [ ... ]. Discounting thesis, the remainder of the compilation does hit many of the big songs [ ... ]. "
