Mongolian State University of Agriculture

The Mongolian State University of Agriculture is a state university in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar and with nearly 10,000 students and 600 academic staff, the largest agricultural university and is ranked among the top five universities of Mongolia. The university was created as a spin-out of the National University of Mongolia, it has cooperation agreements with 120 partners from 24 countries.

History

At the foundation of the National University of Mongolia in 1948, the Faculty of Vetärinärmedizin was established. This Faculty was a spin-off in 1958 as a self Institute of Agriculture. The institute was renamed in 1990 in University of Agriculture and finally accredited in 1993 as Mongolian State University of Agriculture through expansion and incorporations of schools and experimental farms.

Equipment

The University has a campus of 12.4 acres, four institutes, 37 departments and 100 laboratories. Cooperations exist with universities in 24 countries, including Belgium, China, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, Korea, Austria, Poland, Russia, Czech Republic and Hungary.
