Monica De Coninck
Monica De Coninck ( born March 21, 1956 in Oostende ) is a Belgian politician of the Socialist Party Other ( sp.a ). She is the former president of the Public Social Assistance Centre ( CPAS ) of Antwerp. Since 2011, De Coninck is the federal Employment Minister in the government Di Rupo.
Life
Monica De Coninck studied morality and ethics at the University of Ghent ( UGent, 1979) and began her professional career as a moral teacher at various schools. From 1988 to 1994 worked Socialistische Jeugdverbond in the socialist youth organization.
Your entry into the policy made them initially as a consultant in various ministerial cabinets: first in 1995 with Leo Peeters ( SP), then at Charles Piqué (PS). In addition, she was elected to the Antwerp Provincial Council in 1994. In 2001 she moved to the Gemeindetat of Antwerp and was elected president of the Public Social Assistance Centre of the city. From 2007 to De Coninck was also Antwerp Alderman for Social Affairs.
The jump in the federal government under Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo (PS ) managed Monica De Coninck on December 6, 2011 as the Employment Minister.
