Monice

Monika Ivkic ( born June 6, 1989 in Gradačac, Yugoslavia ) is an Austrian pop singer who is looking through Star Mania and Germany the superstar was known.

Life

Ivkić was born in Gradačac and came to Vienna as a Bosnian war refugee. At the age of 17 years Ivkic graduated from the school and wanted to become a singer. Ivkic currently lives in Vienna with her brothers and her parents.

At the age of 15 years Ivkic took part in the German talent show Popstars. Since they did not meet the minimum age of 16, she could not deny to the end of the broadcast. A year later Ivkic took part in the Austrian casting show Star Mania, in which they finished in 18th place at the end. Their popularity increased when she the following year studied in Germany for the superstar took part and finished fourth. Ivkic took part in the Irish qualifying round for Euro Vision Song Contest 2010, where she finished in third place with the song Fashion Queen.

In February 2009 Ivkic brought out a book entitled Do not get char from Bohlen - Tips and Tricks for superstars ( and those who want to be there ) out.

The end of 2010 Ivkic lost her recording contract with Warner Music Group in March 2011 and received a contract with the independent label Permanent Vacation. The planned album Painful Dreams in February 2012 was postponed due to the high production costs. Multiple joined Ivkic as a result the record label and was finally at Permanent Vacation ( single releases in Switzerland and Austria ) and Polydor ( singles in Germany & Bosnia and Herzegovina) under contract.

Since 2011 Ivkic also works as a journalist for an Austrian daily newspaper.
