Moniek Nijhuis

Moniek Nijhuis (born 20 March 1988) is a Dutch swimmer. He currently lives and trains Moniek Nijhuis in Amsterdam by the swimming club De Dolfijn.

Career

Nijhuis special routes are the 50 meter un 100m breaststroke distances. After winning the bronze medal at the European Youth Championships 2003 in Glasgow, she was a part of the Dutch national team at the 2003 European Championships Short Course in Dublin, where she won 50 meter medley relay bronze medal with the 4 ×.

The following year, she could first win at the European Youth Championships in Lisbon two gold medals over 50 meters and 100 meters breaststroke and in the subsequent Short Course European Championships in Vienna in 2004 a gold medal with the Dutch 4 x 50 meter medley relay with a new world record.

The following Short Course European Championships 2004 in Vienna and 2005 in Trieste, she was short course European champion with the Dutch 4 x 50 meter medley relay in each new world record.

In early 2008, Nijhuis known in the future have to worry about their studies and neglecting training subsequently. Shortly afterwards, at the European Swimming Championships in their home country in the city of Eindhoven, she took over 100 meters Bust 23 final ranking and thus failed to qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.

In Rijeka at the Short Course European Championships 2008, she won renewed world record with the Dutch 4 x 50 meter medley relay gold medal. About 50 meters breaststroke she finished sixth overall place.

So far your biggest success Nijhuis at the Short Course European Championships 2009 on 50 meters breaststroke when she won the gold medal in a new Short Course European Championships record time.
