Monika Äijä

Kerstin Monica Äijä Lenndin ( born February 17, 1963 in Uppsala ) is a former Swedish alpine skier. She specializes in the technical disciplines slalom and giant slalom and reached seven top - 10 finishes in the World Cup.

Career

Monica Äijä belonged to middle -to-late 1980s, the Swedish National Ski Team. In the World Cup they could place ten times in their special disciplines slalom and giant slalom between March 1984 and December 1987 in the top 15 and win the World Cup points. Seven times she went into the top ten, and on January 11, 1985 it reached sixth place in the slalom in Bad Kleinkirchheim her best World Cup result. 1982 and 1983 she was Swedish Champion in slalom and 1986 and 1987 Swedish champion in giant slalom. For international medal decisions but the Swede had no success. She started at the World Championships in 1985 and 1987 and the Winter Olympics in 1988, respectively in the slalom and giant slalom, but reached in any of these six races the goal.
