Monika Brodka

Monika Brodka (born 7 February 1987 in Żywiec, Poland; known as Brodka ) is a Polish pop singer. In 2004, she won the third season of the Polish talent show idol. She is a member of the Phonographic Academy of ZPAV.

Biography

Monika Brodka comes from Twardorzeczka, a community near Żywiec. She was raised by a family from the Polish highlands, which belongs to the minority of highlanders and maintains the traditional music. At the age of six, she began to play the violin.

Career

In 2004 Brodka part in the third season of the talent show idol. In January 2004, she won with 69 % of the vote the final against Jakub Kęsy.

On 27 September 2004 she released her first EP Mini Album Vol. 1 with a total of seven titles. In the Polish album chart, it debuted at number 29 in the following week it reached the second place. The lead single from the album was the song Ten (engl. " The "). On 25 October 2005 they released their second EP Mini Album Vol. 2, which reached the 21th place in Poland. At the same time the second EP, their debut album was released album. This contains all the tracks of the previous two EPs. In the Polish album charts, it reached the sixth place. With over 35,000 copies sold, the album reached gold in Poland.

2005 Brodka was nominated in three categories for the Fryderyk, these were: Album Roku Pop, Nowa Twarz Fonografii and Wokalistka roku. In October 2005, she took the song " horoscope " on the Rapperduo Rare Disease & CNE. The title appeared on their album Jeszcze raz.

On 20 November 2006, her second studio album Moje piosenki appeared (Eng. " The Sound of Music "). This debuted in Poland at number 41 and peaked in the coming weeks, the position 7 with 15,000 copies sold, the album went certified Gold the - record. Singles from the album are the title Znam Cię na pamięć (Eng. " I know you by heart " ) and MIAL byæ ślub (Eng. "There should be a wedding ").

On September 20, 2010 their third studio album Granda appeared (Eng. " fraud "). The music for the songs was composed by Bartosz Dziedzic and Brodka itself. In the album charts, the album debuted at number 10 in the coming week it reached the second place. In May 2011, she was nominated in nine categories for the Fryderyk, of which she won 3. With over 60,000 copies sold, the album was certified double platinum in November 2011. In April 2012, the music video (Eng. " Crossword of the Day" ) won for the single dnia Krzyżówka the Fryderyk in the category "Best Music Video".

30 May 2012 their third EP LAX, which includes only English-language songs appeared. The first single Varsovie (Fr. " Warsaw " ), was used in 2012 by the Polish music channel VIVA for the new campaign of the transmitter.
