Monika Fagerholm

Monika Kristina Fagerholm ( born 1961 in Helsinki ) is a Finland-Swedish author who lives in Finland and writes in Swedish. She lives in Ekenäs in Finland, studied psychology and literature at the University of Helsinki in 1987 and took a degree in social sciences.

Her first book Sham appeared in the same year, the literary breakthrough came in 1994 with the novel Underbara kvinnor vid vatten, who in 1994 was nominated for the most prestigious literary prize in Finland, the Finlandia Prize. In 1995 he was nominated for the August Prize in Sweden, the Prix Aristeion International IMPAC Dublin 1996 and the Literary Award in 1998. 1994 she received the Runeberg Prize.
