Monitor filter

A privacy filter is a flat plastic disc. It is placed on a notebook screen and restricts the angle of approximately 30 °. The filter film is to prevent unauthorized persons can look at the notebook side.

The view filter consists of perpendicular slats, which are supported on the upper and lower sides of a transparent protective film. In the micrograph of the right the distance between the fins is about 60 microns. They decrease the transmittance of about 30% brightness. At a film thickness of approximately 600 microns 200 microns attributable to the ridge height and each 200 microns on the backing sheets. This results in a geometric shadowing at a lateral angle of about 25 °. The view from above is not restricted.
