Mono is an ubangische language, which is spoken by about 65,000 people in the northwest corner of the Congo.
It is one of Banda languages , a subgroup of ubangischen languages that are no longer added to the Niger - Congo languages . It has five dialects: Bili, Bubanda, Mpaka, Galaba and Kaga.
Mono has 33 consonant phonemes, including three labial- velar endings ( / kp /, / ɡ͡b / and pränasalierten / ᵑ ͡ ᵐ ɡ͡b / ), an asymmetric eight- vowel system and a labiodental flap ( [ ⱱ ] ) that both / v / and with / w / contrasts. It is a tonal language.
