Monogenetic volcanic field

A monogenetic volcano arises, in contrast to the polygenetic volcano eruption by only one or a several -year-long eruption phase. Many cinder cones, maars and Tuffringe belong to this type. These volcanoes are often hundreds gathered in so-called monogenetic volcanic fields.

An illustrative example is the cinder cone Paricutin in Mexico, the construction phase lasted nine years.
