Monrovia is a city in Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California, United States with 38,200 inhabitants ( 2004). The city is located at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. She is also a popular filming location.

History

Monrovia is to Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Pasadena is the fourth oldest city in Los Angeles County. The city was established in 1887 in the Register.

500 BC founded Tongva Indians settlements in the San Gabriel Valley. 1769, when California was under Spanish rule, the first Europeans arrived in the San Gabriel Valley. In 1771 where he founded the Franciscan Order, the Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, which brought the Tongva Indians farming. After the Mexican Revolution of 1839 the countries of the mission were nationalized.

The expansion of the Santa Fe Railway and the Southern Pacific Railway to Southern California where he opened new investment opportunities.
