Mons Vitruvius
The Mons Vitruvius is a mountain on the moon in the region of Montes Taurus, north of the Sea of Tranquility and southeast of the Mare Serenitatis. This massif has a diameter of about 45 km. It rises to a height of about 2.3 km in the north-east.
The name of the mountain was derived from the Vitruvius Crater, which is located south-southeast and is named after Marcus Vitruvius Pollio.
The landing site of Apollo 17 is located immediately to the north, between Mons Vitruvius and Littrow crater.
