Monta Bell

Louis Monta Bell ( born February 5, 1891 in Washington, DC; † February 4, 1958 in Hollywood) was an American producer, director and screenwriter.

Life

Monta Bell work as a journalist, inter alia, the Washington Herald, before he went to the First World War to Hollywood. There he met Charlie Chaplin know which enabled him appearances in two of his film, in 1917 as an extra in The Adventurer and 1923 as a police officer in the pilgrim. He then staged example Joan Crawford's debut film whore love and Greta Garbo first Hollywood film floods of passion. In Chaplin's film The nights of a beautiful woman, he worked as the dramaturgical assistant and editor. After 1930 he devoted himself almost exclusively to the film production.
