Montbazon
Montbazon is a commune with 3959 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Indre- et- Loire in the Centre region; it belongs to the district of Tours and is the administrative center of the canton Montbazon. The village lies on the Indre between Veigné, Monts and Sorigny, about twelve miles from Tours.
History
Fulk III. , Count of Anjou, built a castle here in the 11th century. In the 16th century Montbazon was raised for Louis VII de Rohan Guémené to the dukedom and peerage.
