The Monte Cristo Multimedia SA was an international French producer of computer games.

History

The company was founded in 1995 by Jean -Marc de Fety and Jean- Cristophe Marquis in Paris, with the goal of realistic learning and training applications on the subject of economy and stock market to develop for the PC. The company produced 1996 for the European Commission a virtual stock exchange on CD- ROM, with the aid of the EU ministers were able to simulate the exchange of European currencies. The product has been added a short time later with different training tools and sold for training purposes in Europe at universities and business schools.

On the first training program was followed by Wall Street traders, which among other things for its accurate simulation of the international stock market conditions was awarded by the European Commission as " best educational software " and one of the most successful games of this genre counts. Next, the company " Start Up 2000 " developed, in which players can realistically start their own business and lead.

As a result, Montecristo Multimedia developed with more than 30 games to become a leading provider of management and strategy games. In addition to its headquarters in Paris, the company has, since 2005, with an office in Kiev.

On 25 May 2010 Monte Cristo announced in several player forums its resolution due to financial difficulties known. The current project "Cities XL 2011 " were sold to the publisher Focus Home Interactive under license. "Cities XL 2011 " was released on October 14, 2010.
