Monte Lema

From the Val Veddasca

The Monte Lema is a mountain ( 1,624 m above sea level. M. ) in the canton of Ticino ( Switzerland ) above the places Miglieglia and Astano directly on the border with Lombardy, Italy. From Miglieglia a cable car to the summit.

In addition to the mountain station can be found around the peak of a mountain restaurant, an observatory and a weather radar station of MeteoSwiss.

From the summit you have an impressive view of the surrounding mountains of southern Ticino, Lake Lugano and Lake Maggiore. The mountain region is suitable for traffic with a marked net of 80 km.

The summit region is not only popular with hikers but also for Mountain Bike - tours suitable. For paragliders start a grass court and two landing sites are available. Modellers are also welcome on the Lema. The accommodation is very well adjusted to the modeller, there are craft and storage rooms for the model aircraft.
