Montecalvo Versiggia

Monte Versiggia is a municipality ( comune ) with 559 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the south-western Lombardy, northern Italy. The municipality is situated approximately 26 km south-southeast of Pavia in Po at Pavese and belongs to the Comunità Montana Po at Pavese. ( Co-) namesake of the village is the small river Versiggia.

History

1164 Monte Calvo is mentioned for the first time in a document of Frederick I., as this Oltrepò the region transferred to the Lords of Pavia.
