The Crnogorski Planinski Gonic ( Montenegrin mountain hound, formerly Yugoslavian Mountain Hound ) is recognized by the FCI breed of Montenegro ( FCI group 6, section 1.2, Standard No. 279).

Origin and History

This breed is closely related to the other running dogs of the Balkans. The first standard is from 1924. FCI From this breed was recognized in 1969.

Description

Up to 56 -cm and 25 kg heavier hunting dog, black as the base color with red markings. The coat is short, dense, rough, very thick, glossy, flat and smooth with plenty of undercoat. His ears are set high, medium, thin to medium thick, falling down without wrinkles and close to the head.

Use

Like all hounds are suitable dogs for hunting, as well as companion dogs.
