Monterreal Castle

The Parador de Baiona is a Spanish hotel chain of state Parador in Baiona, a city in the province of Pontevedra the Galicia Autonomous Region. The Parador is located on a peninsula, where originally the Castillo de Monte Real was.

Location

The plant, with a large park surrounded by the sea, is only accessible via a Vorwerk, which blocks access to the headland. The vice passed by steep slopes peninsula is protected by a crenellated wall.

History

The Parador was built on the ruins of a castle. On the large grounds was a Franciscan monastery from which the dome of the chapel is obtained, which is located above the entrance hall and the hotels of today's main staircase. From the fortress three towers and the enclosure are still preserved.
