Montgomery County (Mississippi)

The Montgomery County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Winona, which was named after an expression of the Sioux language, which translated means first-born daughter.

History

The Montgomery County was formed on 13 May 1871 parts of Carroll County and Choctaw County. It was named after Richard Montgomery, a general in the American Revolutionary War.
