Monti Lepini

The Monti Lepini ( Lepinische mountains or outdated Volscian mountains ) are a mountain range in the Italian region of Lazio. It is located about 60 km southeast of Rome, between the valley of the Sacco and the Pontine plain.

In contrast to the neighboring Albanian mountains are the mountains Lepini not volcanic in origin, but a karstified limestone.

The Lepini mountains have a stretch of about 35 km in the east-west direction and 20 km in a north-south direction. They are very sparsely populated and traversed the only one of the state road SS 609 Via Carpinetana.
