Sicily with the Sicani Monti

The Monti Sicani Mountains is a mountain in Sicily. It lies in the western part of the island in the provinces of Palermo and Agrigento.

Highest elevation is 1613 m high Rocca Busambra south of the village Cammarata. A little further north at Castronovo di Sicilia stems from the Platani, one of the longest rivers in Sicily. Parts of the Monti Sicani were put under protection as rare orchids and butterflies are native here.
