Montjuïc Cable Car

The Telefèric de Montjuïc ( Catalan for, Montjuïc cable car ') is a detachable one-cable gondola on Montjuïc in Barcelona (Spain). The cable car is up on the revision time, full year of operation

The cable cars slow down in the stations and are decoupled from the traction cable to allow easier entry and exit. This allows, for example, wheelchairs, mountain bikes, strollers, etc. are transported more easily.

History

Today's cable car replaces an earlier facility, which was opened on 22 June 1970. Due to renovations and repairs the cable car from 2005 to 2007 was not in operation. On 16 May 2007, the cable car was re-opened after renovation.

The facility is owned and managed by the Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona ( TMB) operated.
