Montmarault
Montmarault is a commune with 1510 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Allier in the Auvergne region; it belongs to the administrative district Montlucon and Canton Montmarault.

Geography
The municipality is located in the countryside Bocage Bourbonnais, about 30 kilometers east of Montlucon. Neighboring communities of Montmarault are:
- Sazeret in the north,
- Saint -Marcel -en -Murat in the east,
- Blomard in the south and
- Saint -Bonnet -de-Four in the West.
The town itself is situated on a plateau, all there springing waters leave the municipality star shape after low flow section.
