Montmorency-Beaufort

Montmorency -Beaufort is a commune with 121 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Aube department in the Champagne- Ardenne region; it belongs to the district of Bar-sur -Aube and Canton Chavanges.

History

Under the original name of Beaufort, the place was residence of the Duke of Beaufort. The duchy was renamed in 1689 in Duchy of Montmorency. The place followed this renaming in that it changed its name to Montmorency -Beaufort.
