Monument is a city in El Paso County in the U.S. state of Colorado, United States. Covering an area of 12 km ² population of just under 5,500 residents.

Monument is located just a few miles north of Colorado Springs.

The first settlers arrived in 1865, growing by a railway station in 1872 the place Henry 's station was founded in 1879. The present name, derived from the impressive Monument Rock in the west of the city, was founded in 1882.
