The monument to the Magdeburg Law (Ukrainian Пам'ятник Магдебурзькому праву / Pamjatnyk Mahdeburskomu prawu ) is also called the Monument to the baptism of Kievan Rus and is considered the oldest monument in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

The monument was built in 1802-1808 by the architect Andrei Ivanovich Melenski in the years lies in Podil near the Dneprufers and to commemorate the award of the Magdeburg rights to the city of Kiev in the period 1492-1497.

Description
