Monunius I of Dardania

Monunios was in the 2nd century BC a king of Dardanians. His life data as well as the exact length of his reign unknown. He ruled probably since about 180 BC, Dardania, 175 led war against the Bastarnae. A little later he married his daughter Etuta (or Etleua ) with the Illyrian king Genthius and closed with him and the Macedonians an alliance against Rome. Whether he was able to hold after the defeat of the coalition (167 ) as a ruler is uncertain. The embossed Monunios of coins suggest that he has at times dominated the city Dyrrachium on the Adriatic.

A ruler of the same name was around 280 BC King of Dardanians.

Museum of Military History in Vienna is a helmet labeled " Monunios ".
