Moo box

Called A Muhdose ( Muh - tin ), also cow or buzzing box, humming or Kippstimme, is a mechanical sound producing instrument, which is used as a toy, gift or as a component of a humming teddy bears. It consists of a reed pipe and a blower, which is weighted by a weight. Once the unit is turned over, the weight pulling on the bellows, the air gives off when position changes to the pipe.

Use

In addition to the amusement or entertainment are the animal sounds doses the hearing test in young children. Was developed this test by the French physician Lucien Moatti. He uses four doses with the voices of cow, sheep, cat and bird, which are set to sixty decibels at two meters distance. The different frequencies (250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz and 2500 Hz) of the animal voices allow conclusions about the hearing of bass, baritone, alto and soprano.
