Moor village is a municipality in the district of Steinburg Westermoor in Schleswig -Holstein. Until 29 February 2008 Moordorf was a separate municipality.

Geography and transport

Moor village is about 5 km east of Itzehoe. The Great Au flows through the municipal area. About 7 km to the north runs the federal highway 206 from Itzehoe to Bad Bramstedt, about 5 km south-west, the Federal Highway 23 from Itzehoe to Hamburg.

The village lies on the edge of Breitenburger Moors.

Economy

The urban area is predominantly agricultural.

Policy

Until the incorporation the town had a community meeting, instead of a local council, this included all residents of the community to. In accordance with § 54 of the Schleswig-Holstein Municipal Code for all municipalities with less than 70 inhabitants.

The community Moordorf led no crest.
