Moorenweis

Moore Weis is a municipality in the west of the county Fürstenfeldbruck in the district of Upper Bavaria.

Geography

Moore Weis is located about 14 km west-southwest of Furstenfeldbruck. The municipality is the source of Maisach.

Moore Weis consists of six parts of the municipality:

• Moore Weis with the districts Albertshofen, Brandenberg, High cell and Windach.
• Dünzelbach with the districts Luidenhofen and cell
• Eismerszell
• Grunertshofen
• Purk with the districts Langwied and Römertshofen
• Steinbach

History

Moore Weis was first recorded in 753 in a document of the monastery Wessobrunn. The monastery was from the 13th century to its secularization in 1803 the most important reason rule in place. The municipality Moore Weis was born in 1818.

Incorporations

At the municipality reform in Bavaria Moore Weis was increased on July 1, 1972 at the former municipalities Dünzelbach, Eismerszell, Purk and Steinbach. On May 1, 1978, added Grunertshofen.

Coat of Arms Description

Growing in silver from blue Wellenschildfuß two black moss flask with green stems and green leaves; between diagonally crossed a red cross staff and a red key.

Coat of Arms history

The Wellenschildfuß and the resulting growing moss piston (bulrushes ) refer to the location of the municipality in the headwaters of the Maisach and the typical in the wetlands flora. The Red Cross staff, attribute of Saint Sixtus, symbolizing the patron of the parish Moore Weis and the historical significance of the parish church as the basic rule.
