Moosdorf

The community Moosdorf with 1554 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) is located in Upper Innviertel in Upper Austria. The competent court is the district court district Mattighofen until 2004, the village belonged to the district court Wildshut.

The name Moosdorf refers to the proximity to the Ibm Moor, the largest moor complex in Austria and the easternmost foothills Moore.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Moosdorf and barn.

Ibm Moor

A natural space special feature is the extensive Ibm Moor, which is surrounded by würmeiszeitlichen end moraines, after the retreat of the ice was formed. Even today you can find the traces of the glacier, such as on Oser between Hackenbuch and Ibm, in the form of kettle holes that are now partly occupied by Inger Herat and Seeleitensee, or glacially formed hills, such as that in Weichsee. Until the 19th century into the bog of human influences remained relatively unaffected, first drainage measures and the large-scale peat cutting machine, which was operated until a few decades, the marsh changed considerably since then in most parts. Today the nature reserve pipes Anger, which is also a Natura 2000 site and still contains a number of protected plant usually consists. The Pinus mugo - Stocks in Weitenmoos are to be regarded as glacial relicts and still clearly visible, while Betula nana and Betula pubescens, two other relict species, likely to be gone in recent years.

History

The name Moosdorf was first mentioned in documents around 1130 AD in the traditions ( book on donations ) of the Benedictine monastery Michaelbeuern with " Chunradus de Mostorf ". The settlement of the glacial Moränenwalls is however done much earlier. This is proved by the excavation of a villa rustica ( Roman estate ). 1682 has started with the construction of the nave branch church of the parish in eggelsberg Moosdorf. This is the hl. Dedicated to Stefan. From 1784 Moosdorf became a separate parish. 1850 gained the status of a Moosdorf own community and includes the cadastral Moosdorf and barn. Until the 19th century, even the places were Malling (now at Kimmel Village ) ( today Elling ) called and Mühlbach in the parish articles.

On 11 August 2006, the Cologne artist Gunter Demnig laid stumbling blocks for the two victims of National Socialism Johann Lenz and Joseph Weber.

Moss Strand Village mobile

On 14 January 2013 the association was making Moosdorf mobile moss villages village mobile put into operation, an Austria-wide showcase for electric mobility and social skills. The E- Mobile is exclusively operated by volunteer drivers and operates between the various districts of Moosdorf that are not accessible through the normal public transport. Additionally, trips to doctors, etc. are offered to authorities. Thus, even people without their own transport and be mobile again may participate in the local happenings. The moss villages Village Mobile has been proposed for energy -Star 2013.
