Mora, Sweden
Mora is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Dalarna County and Dalarna. The town is the capital of the homonymous municipality and is located at the northern end of Lake Siljan.
History
One of the earliest preserved key fiddles comes from Mora and was built in the 16th century.
Cityscape
Mora is an industrial and tourist center. Here is the house of the painter Anders Zorn (1860-1920), who was born in Mora. A museum with his works, his house ( Zorngården ) and his birthplace ( Wrath Gammelgård ) can be visited today. The shopping street, the town hall, several museums are located in the district Morastrand.

The Hockey Club Mora IK founded in 1935, has spent several times many years in the highest Swedish league. The home arena of the team is called FM Matsson Arena and is also popularly called Smidjegrav. Here is held every year around Christmas the FM Matsson Cup, a youth tournament instead. Currently the club plays in the second highest Swedish league, Allsvenskan.
Mora is also the destination of the annual Wasalaufes, of a 90 -kilometer cross-country skiing competition.
The men's team and the women's team in floorball both playing in the highest Swedish league.
Traffic
Mora is the terminus of the railway line Mora Uppsala, also called Dalabanan, a railway route from Stockholm to Mora via Uppsala. Mora is currently the southern terminus of the Inland Railway, which runs from here to the north towards Östersund and Gällivare. To the south in the direction Kristinehamn, the buses of domestic train. There is a short railway line to Älvdalen ( Älvdalsbahn ), but has no passenger trains.
In Mora is referred to in this section, " Kopparleden " N 70 cross Enköping (west of Stockholm ) to Drevsjø in Norway and the " Inlandsvägen " called E45 from Gothenburg to Ostersund, Gällivare and Karesuando.
The city is also served by the airport Mora - Siljan (Mora Siljan Flygplats ) on scheduled air services. There are regular flights to Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
