Morbillivirus

Morbillivirus is a virus of the family Paramyxoviridae genus. It is highly infectious enveloped viruses with a helical capsid. The genome consists of a single stranded, non- segmented RNA with negative polarity (ss (-) RNA). The viral envelope has called spikes, their own glycoproteins hemagglutinin, neuraminidase and hemolytic activity.

The virus replication takes place in the cytoplasm and at the cell membrane of infected cells.

Morbilliviruses are most sensitive to heat, dehydration, degreasing agents and most disinfectants.
