Morciano di Leuca

Morciano di Leuca is a Southeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3430 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Lecce in Puglia. The municipality is situated approximately 58 km south-southeast of Lecce in southern Salento. Morciano di Leuca is located directly on the Ionian Sea.

History

Morciano di Leuca and the districts created in the 9th century after the city was destroyed by the Saracens Vereto.

Traffic

The community is a station on the railway line from Novoli after Gagliano del Capo Ferrovie del Sud Est. By the municipality shall also undertake the Strada Statale 274 SALENTINA Meridional from Gallipoli to Castrignano del Capo.
