Moreno Torricelli ( born January 23, 1970 in Erba (CO), Italy ) is a retired Italian footballer and current coach. His main position was right -back.

Playing career

In the club

Moreno Torricelli's career began as a modern fairy tale, he worked in a furniture factory, as a friendly game of his team Caratese U.S., for whom he played as a hobby, against Juventus changed his life. Probably the best seasons of his career, he played between 1994/95 and 1997 /98. He contributed with excellence to win three Italian Cups, one Coppa Italia, one Champions League, World Cup, European Super Cups and two Italian Super Cup for Juventus.

In summer 1998, he moved at his own request Fiorentina, where its discoverer Giovanni Trapattoni was now coach. Moreno Torricelli played an impeccable season and reached with his team the third place, the person entitled to Champions League qualification. Moreno Torricelli made ​​his international debut on 24 January 1996 to the 3-0 win over Wales. He participated in the European Football Championship in England in 1996 and at the World Cup in France in 1998 with Italy. The last of his ten caps for the Azzurri played Torricelli on 10 February 1999 in a 0-0 draw against Norway.

Coaching career

In the 2007 /08 season Moreno Torricelli worked as a youth coach at Fiorentina. In February 2009 he took over as coach of AC Pistoiese, currently in Lega Pro Prima Divisione plays.
