Morgan Spurlock
Morgan Spurlock ( born November 7, 1970 in Parkersburg, West Virginia ) is an American film director, documentary filmmaker and screenwriter. Internationally known Spurlock was his documentary Super Size Me from the year 2004.
Career
Before his breakthrough with Super Size Me Spurlock invented the I Bet You Will series, which was bought by the TV channel MTV. Spurlock was rejected by the well-known USC Film School five times.

Spurlock was in a 2003 for his age than average good health when he started with the documented in his film Super Size Me project. For 30 days he ate three meals a day in the U.S. fast -food chain McDonald's, which he should only use their super-size option if it was offered to him. His health and his blood values suffered drastically, he took 25 pounds (12.5 kg), and there were liver damage and depression. Critics such as the food chemist Udo Pollmer alleged in interviews, Spurlock had taken before filming drugs that distort the values before the measurement and the final measurement. After completion of the project he needed five months to take off at nine kilograms and nine more months for the remaining two kilograms.

2005 was created in collaboration with the American television channel FX a multipart television series called Morgan Spurlock 's 30 Days, in which he accompanied people or even played, each for 30 days played a strange role, eg as a Muslim, Indian or minimum wage. In Germany, on the DMAX (formerly XXP ) seen since July 2006, a dubbed version.
On January 21, 2008, Spurlock's documentary Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden? premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Spurlock's documentary The Greatest Movie Ever Sold was released in 2011. Therein he goes to the question of how it creates the Hollywood film industry repeatedly scrape together their billion budget for technically most sophisticated and most successful blockbuster productions. Spurlock finds out in a realsatirischen self-experiment as a Hollywood producer, that this is achieved primarily through advertising and marketing strategic product placements, so by surreptitious advertising, which is cleverly integrated into Hollywood films.
2012 appeared Spurlock's documentary Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan 's Hope, in which he looks behind the scenes of the comic and film festivals.

Spurlock was in Parkersburg, West Virginia, born but raised in Beckley, West Virginia, on. He currently lives in Manhattan, New York. Spurlock married his longtime girlfriend Alexandra Jamieson on May 3, 2006. Were divorced again. She is a vegan cook. They have one son, who was born on 9 December 2006.
