Morgenstern (Mittelalter band)
Morgenstern is a former metal band, founded on 28 February 1998 by Jens Hülpüsch, Matthias Ullmann, Susanne Brinkley and Steffen Richter. City of origin of the band is Bad Salzungen. Starting as medieval rock band, the band now plays a mixture of brute Rock and Metal with German lyrics.
The band received in 1999 a record deal with Napalm Records.
The album "Today vengeance is mine ", the band played in 2001 in the occupation Rico Ihling (vocals), Matthias Ullmann (drums ), Susanne Brinkley ( wind instruments ), Dirk Necke ( wind instruments ), Jens Hülpüsch (guitar) and Jörg Hülpüsch (Bass) a.
After the Mexico Tour 2004 Rico Ihling, Matthias " Ulli " Ullmann †, Susanne and Dirk Brinkley Necke leave the band due to musical and personal differences. As Jens and Jörg Hülpüsch not want to die, the band and the name, they regroup with new style and a new cast. Since 2005, Morgenstern plays alongside the Hülpüsch brothers with Chrissi Vogt on keyboards, Karsten Schwantes on drums, Tino Saabel on guitar and on vocals.
Matthias " Ulli " Ullmann died at the age of 40 years on 17 June 2012 in a work accident.
