Moritz de Hadeln

Moritz de Hadeln ( born December 21, 1940 in Exeter, England) is or was a director of several film festivals.

De Hadeln grew up in Florence, studied physics and chemistry at the Sorbonne in Paris and worked as a photographer. De Hadeln founded 1969 Documentary Film Festival Nyon. He was from 1972 to 1977 director of the International Film Festival of Locarno, and 1980-2001 of the International Film Festival and two years as Director of the International Venice Film Festival. In 2005 he is program director at the newly created Festival International de films de Montréal. De Hadeln lives in Berlin.

De Hadeln was between 2001 and 2003 the Board of Trustees of the Allianz Cultural Foundation.
