Moritz Leitner (born 8 December 1992 in Munich ) is a German -Austrian football player. Since the season 2013/14, the midfielder is in the squad of VfB Stuttgart.

Family and Childhood
Erwin field Berger ( born 1943 ), the father of Moritz Leitner, comes from the Baden-Württemberg Burladingen and was even football players. Leitner's mother is from Oberwölz in Styria; of her comes the surname Leitner. Leitner has a sister and grew up in the Munich suburb Oberföhring. On 2 September 2010 he received the German citizenship after application.
Career
Clubs
Leitner began at the age of two years at FC Unterföhring playing football. In July 1998, he joined the club from the Munich suburb of the Grünwalder street in Munich -Giesing. When TSV 1860 Munich, he went through the entire youth department. In the season 2009/10 he played 14 times in the A- junior Bundesliga and thereby scored a goal, but was more eligible to play for the U -17.
To prepare for the season 2010/11 coach Reiner Maurer brought him to the professionals of the TSV 1860. Leitner went through the entire preparation with the first team and came in several games for use. On 14 August 2010 he made his competitive debut for 1860, when he came off the bench in the cup match against SC Verl. Nine days later, he played in an away game against VfL Bochum his first game in the 2nd Bundesliga.
On 1 January 2011 Leitner moved to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, where he received a contract until the summer of 2015. Firstly, he should remain until end of season in Munich. Since the 1860 but could not afford the rental fee for the second round, he was finally awarded until the summer of 2011 to the second division side FC Augsburg. He came in the second half to nine inserts for the FCA.
From the beginning of the 2011/12 season Leitner belonged to the squad of BVB. He made his debut on 24 September 2011 at the match against 1 FSV Mainz 05; in the European Cup he ran for the first time on 19 October 2011 at the Champions League group game against Olympiakos Piraeus for BVB on. Matchday 32 of the 2011/12 season he was with Borussia Dortmund for the first time in his career German masters.
For the seasons 2013 /14 and 2014/15 Leitner moved on loan to VfB Stuttgart. At the same time he extended his contract at Dortmund until June 30, 2017. VfB Stuttgart his father was already active.
National
Leitner played for the U- 17 team in Austria on 21 May 2008 7-0 away win against Estonia in Tallinn an international match. On 3 September 2010, one day after he had received the German citizenship, he was re-nominated by national coach Ralf Minge for the upcoming game of the German U-19 national team against the Danish selection on September 6. Here Leitner came off the bench for the second half and prepared the two goals that scored the German team after the break for 3-0, before. In the following match on 8 October 2010 when he scored 10-0 over the U-19 selection of Andorra in the first qualifying round of the U-19 European Championship 2011 his first two goals in the jersey of the German national team. His first U-21 international goals for Germany scored Leitner on 10 October 2011 at the European Championship qualifier against San Marino.
