Moritzheim

Moritzheim is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Zell an (Mosel).

Geographical location

The place is located in the Hunsrück at an altitude of about 415 m above sea level. The distance to the Mosel is approximately 12 km. She can be reached via the national road 98 to Senheim or near national highway 421 to Zell. History

After a major fire in Senheim on August 13, 1839 set up 30 homeless families the " colony high - Senheim ". The town was renamed soon after completion after the Prussian District Administrator of the cell, Friedrich Alexander Moritz Moritz home.
