Morlachs

The Maurowalachen (also Maurowlachen, Morlaken, Mavrowlachen, ital also Morlacchi ) are a Romance ethnic group that lived in the coastal areas of Bosnia, Croatia and Montenegro. Most Morlaken were assimilated during the Middle Ages from the surrounding Slavs. This left only the Istrorumänen.

Even today, some of the Croats and Serbs in Bosnia as " Vlachs " means ( serbokroat. Vlaje, Vlasi ), but this term is now used primarily as a national insult to discredit the particular ethnic group, as this term in some parts of the Balkans as " shepherd "means.
