Mornas

Mornas is a commune with 2320 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Vaucluse department in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur; it belongs to Arrondissement Avignon Canton and Bollène.

The municipality is located on a narrow terrain between the east bank of the Rhône and a steep limestone mountain on which the castle stands Mornas. She shares this terrain with the Autoroute A7, the Route nationale 7, the TGV from Paris to the Mediterranean Sea (TGV Méditerranée ) directly on the river bank and a regional railway.

Neighboring communities of Mornas on the left side of the river are Piolenc in the south, Mondragon in the north, Uchaux in the east.
