Morné Steyn

Morné Steyn ( born July 11, 1984 in Cape Town ) is a South African rugby union player who plays on the position of the connector for the South African national team, the Team Blue Bulls provincial and Super Rugby for the Bulls.

Career

Steyn began in 2003 with the professional rugby at the Blue Bulls. He helped the team in 2008 for collection in the final of the Currie Cup, but where the Natal Sharks were victorious. In 2009, Steyn came to international prominence. In the semi-finals of the Super 14, he scored four Drop Goals, no one before had reached this number in a super 14 game. In the final, he made numerous successful kicks for the outstanding success of the Bulls, who were celebrating their second championship title. His achievements brought him into the squad for South Africa tour of the British and Irish Lions. In the second test, he was a match winner with a penalty kick in the last minute of the game. In the Tri-Nations match against New Zealand, only his fifth international match, he broke several records. He scored all 31 points of his team. No one before had collected as many points against New Zealand or in any game in the Tri Nations. South Africa, Tri Nations could ultimately decide for themselves and Steyn became the top scorer of the tournament.
