Morra De Sanctis

Morra De Sanctis is a municipality with 1312 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Avellino, region Campania. It is 55 km east of the provincial capital. Originally called the town Morra Irpinia, it was named after the literary historian and multiple Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Italy, Francesco De Sanctis, who was born in 1817 here renamed. The community is a member of the Comunità Montana Alta Irpinia and the Regione Agraria n 3 - Alto Calaggio e Alto Ofanto. Districts are Cervino, Chiancheroni, Orcomone and Selva Piana.
